Accepted Forms of Payment for Therapy

When deciding to get therapy, it’s understandable to find the most economical approach to pay for the sessions. Many individuals find it convenient to utilize their insurance, while others prefer not to involve their insurance provider and instead pay for therapy on their own.

It is always beneficial to obtain as much information as possible and compare options when it comes to shouldering the cost of therapy. At Carolina Counseling Services – Pittsboro, NC, the last thing that the independently contracted counselors want is for finances to stand in the way of the help you need. While the counselors are “in network” with most major insurance carriers, they are also flexible in terms of payment schemes. Their code of professional ethics includes ensuring clients are informed about the different modes of payment they accept for counseling at CCS in Pittsboro, NC.

Different Types of Payment Accepted for Counseling (For Sessions, Copays, or Deductibles)

  • Credit Card: When cash is not available, you can use your credit card. The card is run at the beginning of each session without retaining any information on file.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA): If you’re enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP), you can pay for qualified health care expenses using this tax-advantaged medical savings account. With an HSA, you have the option to choose a credible professional counselor for your own treatment as well as for your spouse and other dependents, even if they are not named in your HDHP.

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Also known as a flexible spending arrangement, the FSA is a special tax-free account you can use to pay for some out-of-pocket health care expenses, including copayments and deductibles. A portion of your income is saved to be combined with an optional contribution from your employer at a maximum amount of $2,500 per year.

These payment options provide you with greater access to the counseling you need for yourself or a loved one. Whichever you choose, you’re investing in a win-win situation, as long as you don’t delay until the symptoms become too difficult to handle. Be assured that whatever form of payment you use, you will receive the same committed and quality service from the counselors independently contracted with Carolina Counseling Services – Pittsboro, NC. If you use these payment options, you don’t need to get a doctor’s referral before counseling: just make a call to schedule an appointment.
